Jim L. Julian

Mr. Julian concentrates primarily on representing corporations and individuals in their general litigation, including business and commercial litigation, product liability, toxic tort, environmental litigation and property and casualty matters. He coordinates and supervises all of the firm’s litigation matters and is lead counsel in complex litigation matters including major contract disputes, multiple party toxic tort claims, insurance coverage cases, class actions, and property-related litigation.

He has been engaged in litigation since 1979 and has an extensive history in private practice. Mr. Julian also served two years for Arkansas Power and Light Company, now Entergy Arkansas, during which he handled matters involving worker’ compensation, general defense, eminent domain and commercial litigation, as well as OSHA and CERCLA compliance. He also gained lobbying experience and is presently a registered lobbyist in the Arkansas Legislature.

He has experience in litigating all manner of business related disputes. For almost 30 years, he has handled the defense of product liability, personal injury and wrongful death matters. His environmental litigation experience includes the defense of mass toxic tort claims, environmental repair cost recovery, property damage and insurance coverage for environmental damage. He has significant experience in the handling of all forms of insurance coverage disputes.

Jim Julian often lectures on litigation-related matters in Arkansas. He is active in the Arkansas Bar Association and serves on numerous community boards.

He has served in the Arkansas Bar Association House of Delegates and is completing a six year term in the organization’s Board of Governors. He has chaired numerous committees and task forces for the Bar Association including the successful effort to amend the Judicial Article of the Arkansas Constitution in November 2000. Mr. Julian is active in the community and serves on numerous community boards.

  • In October 2006, Mr. Julian was successful in obtaining a $9.8 million judgment on behalf of El Dorado Chemical Company against Ingersoll-Rand for losses related to a fire at a chemical manufacturing facility.
